Day and Night Book Tag

I saw this book tag over at Unconventional Bookworms and thought it looked like fun! Brandee initially saw it at Rantings of a Reading Addict who initially saw it Book Dragons! And since there was no image for it, I'm just using the Discussion Challenge one since I plan on counting this as a discussion of sorts!

Do you read more in the morning or night?

I guess morning. Right now, my job is pretty slow, so I sneak reading time throughout the day. When I get home, I do more blogging and such before going to bed as I go to bed early in order to get up early. So I'm a dayreader.

Are there any books that changed the way you thought about things?

I know there are, but for the life of me I can't think of an example! Obviously, it's been awhile since a book majorly impacted my thinking. I know it has happened though! One very, very old example was Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. Yes, I used to read contemporary books once upon a time, mostly in between finding my rare gems of paranormal ones. That one dealt with abusive boyfriends and drug use. I guess it just kind of opened my eyes to the whole matter as at that time (middle school maybe?) I didn't really know much about how it can effect you in the ways it did in this story.

YA or not?

Uh, have you seen my blog? Lol!! I read a healthy amount of YA! Really ever since I read Vampire Academy my YA library has expanded because I long thought the YA Paranormal genre dead, well, it's kind of dead again and YA Fantasy reigns supreme, which I do still read and enjoy. I still have plenty of paranormal titles in my TBR that I hope to get to at some point! I still enjoy my adult reads though, there's a ton of those in my TBR that I need to get back to as well!

Are there characters that you honestly believe are real?

No one specific comes to mind. Now, remember, I read a lot of paranormal and fantasy titles, so my characters tend to be something other than human! Lol. As for character types though, I believe they are real. I haven't really met any of the types because I'm kind of introverted so meeting new people give me anxiety, though I try...just not recently. Lol.

Nobody touches my books or I don’t mind loaning my books out?

Well...is it weird that my family is scared to borrow one of my books? Lol! Granted they don't really enjoy the same genre as me, my sister did at one point but then grew tired of it. So really, I have no one to loan to. Would I though? Probably not. I mean...I did buy my sister and then recently my niece their own sets of the Harry Potter books so they wouldn't borrow mine! *I kind of had to by my niece a set because my sister was missing a few volumes as her students didn't return them to her and that made me all sorts of mad too!

Do you ever smell your books?

I might take a deep inhale when opening a book for the first time, but not much more than that. I do love the smell of books though! It's a peaceful, happy smell. Though ironically I've never bought a candle of it because they tend to add other scents in that I am not fond of. Lol.

Not everyone loves books…is this a positive or negative?

I don't know if I would say negative, but it does make me sad when people don't enjoy reading. I like to think they just haven't found the right book yet. But without truly knowing them and their likes I don't know if I could help them find that book since I'm a paranormal reader! If they don't like the "weird stuff" I don't know how to help them!

Gosh I have too many books! True or False?

False. Without a doubt false. Do I have too little shelves? True. Do I not have enough time to read them all? True. Do I wish I could read faster? True. So you see, it's not that I have too many books! It's all the other elements that are problematic!

Have you ever spilled or stained books before with something, if so how?

Sigh. Yes. I am shameful. I was reading in bed, reached over to grab my drink and somewhere in the mix I spilled a little on the pages. Luckily it was only an ARC and not a keeper copy, but I was terribly, terribly sadden by this. Needless to say, I never did that again!

Toned or untoned? In other words, do you read and workout at the same time?

I guess you can say untoned. When I exercise I'm on an elliptical and  basically can't really read. Plus I wouldn't want the book to fall and get damaged. So instead I watch a TV show on DVD. It lets me get caught up on my shows so it's a win-win!

And that's it! If you're feeling like taking this little questionnaire, consider yourself tagged!

  1. What a fun tag! I listen to audiobooks when on the elliptical, because they keep me way more entertained than music would. :p I also sneak some reading time in during the day at work when it's slow. Happy reading!
