This week's topic is: Top Ten Best/Worst Series Enders

Let me first say that for these "worst" endings, or as I am calling them, "most unenjoyable", it's not that I ended up hating the book or regret reading the series. Not at all. I still enjoyed the series and everything, it was just that I was left with too many questions at the series ending and I don't like that when I know a series is over.

MOST UNENJOYABLE

1. DARK SWAN SERIES 
by Richelle Mead

I just felt like the ending was a little disappointing. Choices that were made and how things aren't really settling down.

2. THE BLOODHOUND FILES 
by DD Barant

Another one that was just a tad disappointing. Still a great series, but it was like we didn't know for sure what our heroine and heroes would do. It's one of those open-ended kind of things.

3.  SOUTHERN VAMPIRE NOVELS*  
by Charlaine Harris

*Going with the original series name vs the one that it becomes known by later

I was just left wondering too much about other characters after this one. Hoping that After Dead satisfies my wonderings!

4. HEREAFTER SERIES 
by Tara Hudson

While I knew this kind of ending was likely, I was still saddened to see it come. When one of the main characters is a ghost, you expect it, but I was still sad and it was the series ending and I didn't want to be left sad by the end. That's why I place this one here as well, but it was still an AMAZING read!

5. THE BODY FINDER SERIES 
by Kimberly Derting

Another ending that just left me shocked! Plus I didn't want the series to end! I wanted to know so much more, but sadly it was the end.

That's pretty much the basis for my choosing all these series. They were all incredible, but with a few of them, I just had too many questions remaining that would likely never be answered or with others, I just wanted more! I didn't want to say goodbye, but for all of them, there was always more than one question that I had that just left me wondering in the dark.

Still would recommend reading all these despite their series endings!

6. HARRY POTTER SERIES

Definitely one ending that I truly enjoyed! The epilogue was a nice touch too, I know not many people liked it, but I still enjoyed it.

7. 13 TO LIFE SERIES

8. THE IRON FEY CHRONICLES 
by Julie Kagawa

I enjoyed this one a LOT! I think of this one as the ending to The Iron Fey Chronicles--believed that was what I recall hearing as the series name years ago. I think some people might not have enjoyed it, but I did! I thought it was a great way to end Meghan and Ash's combined story!

9. THE DEMON TRAPPERS SERIES 
by Jana Oliver

Another series I enjoyed and was very happy with the way it ended!

10. SIGNS OF THE ZODIAC SERIES 
by Vicki Pettersson

Had to find one adult series ending that I liked! This one I really did like how it ended! Thought it was perfect after everything Joanna went through! Now I just need to start Vicki's new series...

Q. How many books do you have planned for this series?

Q. What kind of mischief will Jessica be getting into this time around?

A. No spoilers here, but the mischief abounds. I love to push the envelope, so Jess and the gang are always in for a hefty dose of action and adventure. Lots of fun this time around.

Q. What was your road to publication like? I am struggling trying to query for an agent since I have a paranormal read as well. How did you go about trying to get your book noticed? If you can say, that is!

A. I have a great “Query Help” tab on my website where I cover all the ins and outs of querying: www.amandacarlson.com/query-help/  I sent out 55 queries and had a few bites from the get-go. If you aren’t getting any agents asking to see more, you have to back to the drawing board and hone it more. You need to rewrite the query and keep editing the ms. It’s all about hard work and persistence. This business is tons of work, there is no question about it.

Q. What inspired or motivated you to be a writer?

A. I’ve been writing since I was twelve. I used to take out my yearbook and look up pictures and write a story about the people on the page and what they would be like. When I started having kids, I wrote stories about them. I’ve always been a writer. Finally finding my voice in urban fantasy was a dream come true.

Q. What's your writing process like? Plotter? Pantser? Combo? Something else?

A. I’m a total pantser! I don’t even write anything on a post-it. I love it when the story surprises me. That’s the best part of writing for me. Now that my world is getting bigger and bigger, I have to keep track of all the details, but as far as the storyline goes—it’s all organic. Just the way I like it.

Scooby-Doo's cousin 

Scooby-Dum was just a silly kind of dog! He wasn't the brightest granted, but he was still funny. He liked playing detective with his cousin.

THE WOLFPACK

The group name of the guys from The Hangover movies 

 So Phil, Stu and Alan are the guys I am thinking of when I say the Wolfpack since they are sort of the sidekicks to one another and to Alan who was the main guy in the first movie...or at least the guy who was getting married and all!

MAXIMUS

Sidekick of sorts to Eugene Fitzherbert (aka Flynn Rider)

   Maximus is da bomb!!! I looooooved him in Tangled! He's my favorite character in the movie! He has such attitude! He kind of reminds me of one of our family dogs, who is also all white and all attitude!

ICHABOD CRANE (aka TOM MISON) 

Partner to Abbie in Sleepy Hallow TV series

  Really enjoying Sleepy Hallow and Tom Mison is a great Ichabod Crane! I love how he handles being in the 21st Century, he's quite funny. He makes for a great partner in solving all the weirdness going around Sleepy Hallow!

JACK THE MONKEY

Sidekick to Captain Barbossa

 The monkey was another great character in the Pirates movie! He was funny to, like in the first one when he tilts his head and smiles when Barbossa says, "Not you. We named the monkey Jack."
