Blog Tour: Cold Blooded

Hey all!! Glad to have you here at one of the stops to Part 2 of the Cold Blooded Blog Tour!! Today I have Amanda Carlson here answering a few questions I had regarding the series and Cold Blooded itself! You can see my review from last week here. Stick around to check out the prize!

Q. How many books do you have planned for this series?
A. No set number as of yet, but there will be more! The best place to hear it first is my newsletter, which is www.amandacarlson.com Second best place is my author facebook page: www.facebook.com/authoramandacarlson
on the front page of my website:

Q. What kind of mischief will Jessica be getting into this time around?
A. No spoilers here, but the mischief abounds. I love to push the envelope, so Jess and the gang are always in for a hefty dose of action and adventure. Lots of fun this time around.

Q. What was your road to publication like? I am struggling trying to query for an agent since I have a paranormal read as well. How did you go about trying to get your book noticed? If you can say, that is!

A. I have a great “Query Help” tab on my website where I cover all the ins and outs of querying: www.amandacarlson.com/query-help/  I sent out 55 queries and had a few bites from the get-go. If you aren’t getting any agents asking to see more, you have to back to the drawing board and hone it more. You need to rewrite the query and keep editing the ms. It’s all about hard work and persistence. This business is tons of work, there is no question about it.

Q. What inspired or motivated you to be a writer?
A. I’ve been writing since I was twelve. I used to take out my yearbook and look up pictures and write a story about the people on the page and what they would be like. When I started having kids, I wrote stories about them. I’ve always been a writer. Finally finding my voice in urban fantasy was a dream come true.

Q. What's your writing process like? Plotter? Pantser? Combo? Something else?

A. I’m a total pantser! I don’t even write anything on a post-it. I love it when the story surprises me. That’s the best part of writing for me. Now that my world is getting bigger and bigger, I have to keep track of all the details, but as far as the storyline goes—it’s all organic. Just the way I like it.

Thanks for having me by the blog! I’m so excited COLD BLOODED is releasing in two short days. I’m ready to share it with the world.
