This week's question is: What is the longest book you’ve read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

MY ANSWER: The longest book I've ever read was the full version of The Count of Monte Cristo!! That one's over 1000 pages! Haven't read it in years, but I did enjoy it a lot! The next is probably Harry Potter! I think it's the 5th book that was the longest out of the 7! And there are probably a few of the others that are over 600 pages! Those are my fave I guess, TCMC and Harry Potter! Also the Historian was another read I remember that was pretty long. It got lengthy at some points but was still really good! It was over 700 pages!

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week's question is: Bookish Trends: What are some bookish trends you are noticing in the literature world today? Is there a particular trend you'd like to see more of?

MY ANSWER: Hmm, for awhile paranormal reads were the ever popular thing! Vampires are still pretty hot right now. But in regards to YA books, I see dystopian books on the rise! I've read a few that have paranormal elements and I really like them! Really, I think it still all boils down to preference. I like paranormal reads, so I see a lot of paranormal reads out there. Dystopian isn't far behind though. Like with The Hunger Games coming out today.
But there isn't really a trend that I need to see more of. As long as there are nicely written and engaging paranormal reads, I'm a happy camper! Still working on my own paranormal reads, so if they fall from the shelves maybe mine can replace them someday! Wishful thinking!

  1. Thanks for stopping by! Old follower returning the visit.

I actually tend to seek out long books because, when it's a really good read, I simply don't want it to end. Fortunately, I read a lot of fantasy, and authors there are generally not know for their brevity. LOL

  2. Yeah, Harry Potter is a pretty common answer. I still need to read that series.

I said Dystopian too. :) It is so big right now, especially with Hunger Games coming out.

  5. I love that vampires are popular, and I especially like the new trend I'm seeing where the vamps are the bad guys again. The Hunt, The Immortal Rules, Darkness Before Dawn. All YA with bad-guy vampires.

I'm also happy with the dystopian trend. Obviously THG will always be a favorite, but I love that there are so many dystopias out there.

  8. I like both the dystopians and paranormal stories. In fact, I coould probably stand to read more contemporary YA books, but somehow, those don't thrill me as much.

  15. Over 1000 pages is crazy! I have been putting off reading Inheritance because of the daunting size, and it's 800. Sigh. Thanks for stopping by!
