In My Mailbox is a weekly blog post hosted by Kirsti over at The Story Siren and inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie.
I had a GREAT book week this week!
Kept hitting Borders--despite being saddened by its closing--for the first part of the week I got 40% off books, plus an extra 15% since I was a Plus member and then I hit the stores when it was just plain old 50% off. So great deals all around! And many, many tears! :(
Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers
Original Sin by Lisa Desrochers
Blood Work by Kim Harrison, Illst. by Pedro Maia & Gemma Magno
The Lost Saint by Bree Despain
You're the One that I Haunt by Terri Garey
Silent Night, Haunted Night by Terri Garey
Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent
Black Night by Christina Henry (won in a contest--also a double so might use it in a giveaway)
For my own personal use in my writing I bought "research" books that were on the bargain table so I got an even better bargain!
Werewolves by Jon Izzard--$2!
The Book of Babies' Names: Best Loved Names and Their Meanings from Parragon Books*--$.99!!
*To be used for my character names! I'm not expecting!
I also downloaded for FREE:
Haunting the Night by Mara Purnhagen (Review)
And that was my week! Like I said, not bad at all!! My TBR pile is tilting!! So what did you get this week?
the lost saint is such a good book I love the concept of these books and a lot more happens in this one

Great mailbox Jess! How is Blood Work? I've been keeping an eye on it. And i'm so jealous of your babies anme book! I want one!
ReplyDeleteYa, when my Borders closed I soothed myself by buying a complete set of every series I was interested in. It was a bittersweet experience.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! So many good books Jess! I just read Personal Demons/ Original Sin a few weeks ago and absolutely loved them! And I thought that The Lost Saint was so much better than The Dark Divine... Its a shame that The Savage Grace got pushed back from December (?) to March 2012! As for Blood Bound and Bloodlines? Both are so flipping amazing! I was practically in happy tears at the end of both!
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of the weekend!
I can't wait to see what you think of The Personal Demons series! I haven't read them but I feel like I should!!
ReplyDeleteGreat IMM!
I picked up some Lisa Desrochers at our Borders closeout too. Can't wait to see what you think or Blood Work. I recently got it from the library.
ReplyDeleteCool books I can't wait to read the lost Saint when i get a chance! I loved the Dark Divine. Check out my IMM

I've been REALLY wanting to go to Borders but I have NO money. Like at all. I keep thinking I could use my CC, but that would be bad... so I force myself not to go. I'm wondering when they officially close their doors. I went a couple weeks ago and said my goodbyes so it's not like I really have an excuse (I'd use anything!) but still, I really want to go.
ReplyDeleteYou got some really amazing books and amazing deals! YAY!
You got some good ones there. I really want to read The Lost Saint. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteGreat haul! Lots of great books, many I've read and loved! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read Lisa Desrochers series, always looks good!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Book Sake.
I have The Lost Saint and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Blood Bound. Enjoy!

Awesome books! Who can ever resist great bargains?! I love buying books especially on sale! Congrats and have fun with your books :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got a lot of great books! I need to pay Borders another visit and see what might be left. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my IMM :)
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your new blog design!! Looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI feel so sad about Borders closing, but it is great that people are being able to get so many books for such good prices. Unfortunately, we don't have any Borders nearby us (I don't think that is!)
The books you bought all look wonderful! I'll have to look into that Mara Purnhagen one, I read her last novella before reading One Hundred Candles (think that's what it was called..)and both were ok. I'm hoping the series continues to improve.
