So I am not sure where this tag might have originated but I saw it over at Alli Cat's Meow! Perhaps it was Alli herself! There wasn't really anything about the tag but I figured it looked like fun and wanted to join in!
A- AUTHOR YOU READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM:
I believe that has to be Jennifer L. Armentrout! I've read 25 of her books, while reading my 26th and there's another 5 of her books in my TBR pile so that will bring me up to 31 if I get around to those 5!
B- BEST SEQUEL EVER:
While many books in a series just continue to get better, one sequel I quite enjoyed that's at the top of my head is Legendary by Stephanie Garber! I truly LOVED getting Tella's story and cannot wait for Finale next year!!
C- CURRENTLY READING:
The Dead List by Jennifer L. Armentrout, as I said my 26th book by her with another 5 reads to go!
D- DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING:
Uh...I don't really have anything particular. Usually just a diet soda as that's my caffeine fix!
E- E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK:
Physical book for the WIN!! Though I do read ebooks occasionally. Mostly in terms of reading e-novellas or e-only books or the e-ARC of course!
F- FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL:
Oh geez that's a tough one! Well, I do still have a bit of a crush on Daemon from the Lux series, so I'd totally date him if I were in high school!
G- GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE:
I'm not sure if it was a publisher thing, but my dearly departed Borders had the habit of putting Urban Fantasy books in the Romance section. Weird, I guess. But I had bad luck before with picking up books I thought wouldn't be too "romancey" in the Romance section and chose poorly. But when I saw two quotes from my already favorite authors, I decided to take a chance on Rachel Vincent's first book Stray--this was looong before I started blogging and basically had no opinions to go other than my own gut instinct! Best decision ever!
H- HIDDEN GEM BOOKS:
Another oldie, but goodie! Nocturne by Syrie James was another read I took a chance on! It was in the early days of blogging so I likely took someone's review to heart and decided to read this one myself! Think Beauty and the Beast but with VAMPIRES! And be sure to have a box of tissues because I was a bit destroyed by this book, but I still love it to pieces!
I- IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READER LIFE:
I suppose that would be when I decided to read Demon In My View by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes! Naturally, as you likely already know, THIS is the book that started me on my obsession with all things paranormal, vampires in particular! This book changed my life and it was then that I never wanted to read a contemporary book again! (though technically I was forced to, because again, pre-blogging days and I had no way of getting recommendations!)
J- JUST FINISHED:
I literally just finished A Sorrow Fierce and Falling earlier this afternoon and thought it was a most wonderful read and a great conclusion to the trilogy!
K- KINDS OF BOOKS YOU WON'T READ:
As I just mentioned above, contemporary books! I am done with them! Nothing against people who read them, they are just not for me anymore!
L- LONGEST BOOK YOU EVER READ:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at 870 pages
for the non-Harry read I have Tiger's Dream at 826 pages
and then the classic read of The Count of Monte Cristo at 1276 pages for it was the unabridged version and I decided to read that the summer after I was forced to read the abridged version in class!
M- MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF:
Well, because I have soooo many books that I WANT TO/NEED TO read, I don't usually allow myself to get hungover by any one! There's too many that need being read. I basically allow myself to bask in the glory of the book as I write my review and then it's just time to move onto the next read and bask in its glory! It's all about moving from on glorious book to another!
N- NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN:
Technically 7 bookcases, maybe 7.5 since my nightstand has two shelves, it's just tiny. And then I'm borrowing one small bookcase, 1/3 of the downstairs entertainment center, and one shelf on the bookcase in the living room. So I own 7.5, maaaaybeeeeee the one smaller one, but it's not definite! LOL!
O- ONE BOOK YOU HAVE READ MULTIPLE TIMES:
Old Magic and Demon in My View are ones I know I read multiple times in my youth when I didn't have enough NEW books to read! Now I couldn't say when I last re-read a book...oh wait, no, it was 2009 when I was re-reading the Wicked series so I could read the final book in the series! And I am planning another re-read of another series soon...I just need to get caught up with my review and NEED to read ASAP books!
P- PREFERRED PLACE TO READ:
I suppose that's a comfy chair of some sort! I'm not picky. As long as I am comfortable to sit for hours I can read just about anywhere!
Q- QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU READ:
There have been quite a few! It was only in recent years that I started keeping a journal of all my favorites. One in particular is from Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me:
"I spent my life folded between the pages of books."
because no truer words have been spoken!
R- Reading Regret:
Truly none come to mind! I have no regrets!
S- SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH (ALL BOOKS ARE OUT IN SERIES):
Sadly that list is very, very long and I am working on it! Slowly, but surely! Lol! There are still plenty of finished series I need to START! But I really ought to read the rest of the Broken Destiny trilogy by Jeaniene Frost! I am sooo behind! I even read the first one as an ARC!
T- THREE OF YOUR ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOKS:
So hard to choose, but I went with some of my old favorites and a newer one! But truly, nearly every book I read becomes a favorite on some level! LOL!
Old Magic by Marianne Curley
Nocturne by Syrie James
Caraval by Stephanie Garber
U- UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR:
Three favorites came to mind: Stephanie Garber, Maria V. Snyder, and Jennifer L. Armentrout! If only Stephanie used a middle initial too! Lol!
V- VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL OTHERS:
Finale by Stephanie Garber and Sea Witch by Sarah Henninnig and about a hundred others! Seriously, I am always SUPER EXCITED about all the books on my release list! Lol!
W- WORST BOOKISH HABIT:
Other than buying books faster than I can read them? I guess buying multiple copies of the same book! Granted I don't do this ALL the time! Just for super, super, SUPER favorites!! Lol!
X- X MARKS THE SPOT- START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR BOOKSHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK:
Dangerous Lies by Becca Fitzpatrick--I miss her books! :(
Y- LATEST BOOK PURCHASE:
Ignoring pre-orders as that is what I last did, I did purchase Beast: A Tale of Love and Revenge one right outside the timeframe where I would've gotten it on release day! I needed a finished copy for my shelves! It's too pretty and was such an enjoyable read that I needed my keeper copy! Lol!
Z- ZZZ SNATCHER BOOK--LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY TOO LATE:
Hmm...I don't really read before bed. I can't remember what book I read in bed last. It was one just a month or two ago I think...but for the life of me, I've got nothing in my memory stores! Lol!
And that's all folks! Lol! If you feel like taking on this ultimate challenge consider yourself tagged! And because it was lengthy and conversational like we'll count this for my Discussion Challenge too!
Sounds like fun. I might do this some time. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tag. I'm also really excited for Sea Witch to come out. I still need to get around to reading Caraval. I've heard so many good things about it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteJLA is probably my most read author too! She just has so many great reads! And I'm with you, I miss Becca Fitzpatricks books, I need a new release from her!
ReplyDeleteFun tag! I've read several JLA books too, but I think I've read the most by Robin Hobb. Sorry you don't love contemporaries, but at least you know your own tastes!
