Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Reading Reality.
I had another mundane week. It's been so bloody hot out that it's miserable going outside for anything. Work is slowly picking up in terms of busyness. I'm on a great team though, so nothing has been too stressful yet, which is a plus! Our annual Book Fair was this weekend as well! I headed out on Friday night to check it out, but sadly I just didn't see anything. I don't know if it was due to Covid reasons but I just felt like the amount of books wasn't nearly as much as it was last year or in past years. Which in the long run isn't a bad thing since I did buy a few too many books this week. But alas, three replacements are still in transit and another one was delayed, so it's not nearly as big of a haul as it should've been! Lol.
Here's what I bought what with the multiple sales going on everywhere. It's my "Prime Day" reads that are still in transit. Truthfully they did come in on Thursday, but every single one of them was in poor condition. We're talking bargain bin quality at the prices of NEW books. I wasn't taking that sitting down. If anything, these look like copies that were returned already, what with the creases and dents on the paperback, creases and folds in the dust-jackets. Nobody sends me used quality books that are labeled NEW! So hence, my waiting on them. I got the replacements going the day I received them and they have yet to ship. Hopefully they are coming from a different warehouse and are actually NEW or I will legit do it again because I am that stubborn and particular about my books' condition. I've done this with B&N too on the occasion that they sent me a poor quality book. I mean where's the quality assurance specialist for these warehouses anyway?
Okay, that was a longer tangent than I anticipated. Let's move onto what I did get this week:
Legendary by Stephanie Garber--French edition! I'm kind of glad I got the pocket edition of this one too to match the Caraval one I have. That Finale is bigger, isn't a huge deal! I'm just glad to have the French set now!
Together We Burn by Isabel Ibanez
Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz--B&N edition
Old Magic by Marianne Curley--I had to pick up the newest edition! This was one of my all time favorites! That we have 3 US editions now blows my mind!
Bloodleaf by Crystal Smith--Italian edition
Greythorne by Crystal Smith--Italian edition when I saw that the Italian covers kept the original artwork I HAD to have them! And since I couldn't just get books 2 & 3, I ordered the first one as well! The third book had to be ordered separately, but it's been ordered! Lol.
Then I received my preorder swag for Our Crooked Hearts:
signed bookplate
cellphone holder/ring thingy-ma-bob, lol (what do you call a non-Pop Socket Pop Socket thingy?!)
THANK YOU Flatiron Books!
Then due to Prime Day they had a sale with my shirts I always like. But for whatever reason, they shipped separately. They were BOGO Free! So naturally I HAD to do it! Ironically the "free" shirt arrived first, and yes, it's the free one because it was $13 instead of the usual $15!
I just liked it too much too pass on it! I almost bought it the first day I saw it but talked myself out of it. A 2 for 1 convinced me it was fate! Lol.
And finally, what's one of the most awesome artworks I've ever had commissioned, I bring you a mini bookcase from Books by Britton!
I naturally had to go with a Caraval case! I chose 10 of my favorite covers and them spread out through the shelves! I loooooove all the details Britton put into it! The stars, the roses, the actually mini versions of artwork! It's absolutely stunning!!!
And that was it for me this week! Next week should be pretty decent bookwise since I've two different orders that are in transit now and hopefully my next Fairy Loot book arrives as well since that shipped this week as well.
What new books did you get this week?
