Stacking the Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! The meme is now hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality.

This was an interesting week. Also stressful. You might have seen my ranting on twitter about my network adapter suddenly dying on me over a week ago. I struggled all weekend to use the internet thinking maybe my laptop would work if I moved myself downstairs right next to the wireless "hub" or whatever you want to call it. I am sooo not tech savvy. So I bought myself a new wireless adapter. It didn't work. I bought a second one. It didn't work. So I thought okay, I will give it one more try! Third time's the charm, right? Well, as I write this post it seems to be holding up. It's my hope that it will work. Buying a new computer really isn't in my forecast. I'm trying to save for a trip next year and likely replacing my exercise machine this year. A new laptop wasn't factoring in! So let's hope this little $19 fix holds up for me for awhile! I can always try getting a new laptop next August for tax free weekend! LOL!

So let's move on to bookish wonders and what I added to my toppling TBR pile! Here's what I bought:

The Sweetest Burn by Jeaniene Frost--since I read the first book as an ARC, I'm kind of concerned for my memory! It's going to be tough, but I hope to manage! LOL!
A Ghostly Light by Juliet Blackwell--I belatedly realized (like on the way home and far from the store) that I was buying this one early! I got my dates mixed up and actually thought I was late with buying it! Normally, I don't buy the "early" books when bookstores put them out before the release date.
The Vampire's Valentine Surprise by Kristen Painter--actually bought this one hours before my review book finally came in! So sadly it's going to be set aside for awhile!

For review I received:

The Savage Dawn by Melissa Grey--early copy!

Then since I saw Hebel Design was discontinuing a few lines of jewelry I was quick to head on over and see what was what! A lot of my favorite collections were being let go, but thankfully, I had bought all that I truly wanted/needed from those lines! Until I saw the new obsidian pieces in the Lux collection! I decided I'd get just 1 more! As the blade I bought is rather big for my small stature!

And then while shopping at B&N, I wandered over to the Funkos. Though I couldn't take advantage of the BOGO 30% off sale, I did buy one! I've been binging LOST these past few weekends, as I never did watch the last two seasons when they were airing. I remembered my love for Sawyer! And then when I saw his particular Funko, it was LOVE! And I HAD to have him!!

and yes, he is holding a book! Sawyer likes to read after all! Though I wish he had his glasses, but I guess we can't be too picky!

And that was my week! What did you all get?!

  6. I hope your adapter holds up. It's hard to be without wifi! We had a huge storm last weekend, and our internet was out for an entire Saturday. This family is not used to going without the internet. :) It was a struggle.

  12. I've been meaning to read Melissa Grey's book. It sounds, and looks, good. I just need an entire year off to read. That'd be the life, huh?

Happy reading, and thanks for visiting Shell's Stories!

  13. Oh, good luck with the computer issues, Jess! I had my main computer do pretty much the same thing a while back until it finally just died altogether. :( I hope you have better luck with yours. I need to continue with the Girl at Midnight series---I started the audiobook a while back and really enjoyed it but it expired before I listened to it all.
