Okay, I didn't expect to love the first book as much as I did! It was pretty awesome as it reminded me slightly of Veronica Wolff's Isle of Night series where a girl goes to a school to be a vampire's daylight protector and it was a cutthroat, dog-eat-dog kind of class where you really couldn't make friends with people because they might turn on you! Obviously, there's a load of differences, but that underlying theme is honestly what got me to pick this one up, plus DRAGONS!
