This week's question is: Are you also a writer and what genre or did you ever consider writing? - Suggested by The Pegster Reads

MY ANSWER: Yes I am, but sadly I've been having massive writer's block and basically just being a bad writer. I haven't touched my manuscript in months!
But anyways, I write Urban Fantasy! It was my first love before I even knew what it was, and that's what I write! I've been in the querying trenches and wracked up a nice chunk of rejections. My genre is still a little too hot and I guess my story isn't unique enough to gain attention. I'm also in the process or trying to rework that one a little bit and work myself out of the hole or over the wall I've hit with my other WIP!

I really do hope to one day be published! It's been my dream since I was 13 and basically started reading paranormal books--what little I could find--and it was also when I started writing my own stories. Ones that will never, ever, ever see the light of day! Those are just so entirely laughable, but that was when I basically knew nothing! So I've come a looooooong way since then! :D

  1. Yep – I'm a writer! Not professionally, but writing is what I've always wanted to do. I even studied Creative Writing at uni :D

Right now I'm writing this supernatural mystery-type book. Hopefully it'll get published some day!

  2. Same here, I've been dreaming of being an author for so long, but I'm not as secure in a genre or in my own writing yet as I probably should be. It's great you've put yourself and your writing out there, even if it has led to rejections, because it's a great experience. And it's so rewarding to see the progress your writing has made! Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all the luck with your writing! Have a great weekend :)

  3. Good luck with your writing!

I wish I could say that I'm a writer too, but the farthest I've ever gone is the idea part; I write down the idea, and then my inspiration fizzles out.

  4. I definitely knew what genre you would write before even reading your answer! You definitely have a niche. :) I don't read a lot of paranormal fantasy, but I'd definitely read anything you published!

    Here's my F&F!

  5. That's awesome. Keep writing and don't give up. Just writing in itself is awesome and you've written a whole novel that you love! That's such a cool accomplishment :) I hope you have luck with your querying.

  7. I definitely suggest, if you have 14 bucks =) 90 day novel. It gives you amazing exercises that help bring out ideas to write, and I dont think I could've written without it. I mean, if you've been waiting this long, whats 90 days? =)

  8. Don't give up! I am honestly amazingly impressed that you've even managed to write a full novel - I have great respect for anyone who puts themselves out there and really sticks with it. Have you had any beta readers read your book and give you honest feedback. Sometimes another opinion (or a few) can really help! (If you want to send the book my way, I'd be happy to give you some feedback). And there's always self-publishing. You have a lot of contacts with blogging, so don't discredit that - you might have a bit of an advantage in the self-publishing world.

  9. Good luck with your writing. I've gotten my share of rejections, too. I think I've finally figured out my problem. Now, I just need to basically re-do the whole book.

  10. A kindled writer who started young! I love that you saw something missing and filled it with your own stories. :)

  16. I HATE writer's block! It is literally the worst!
Ooh urban fantasy! The genre has always sounded so cool to me, but I've never been 100% sure what it is exactly. Hopefully one day I'll read your book and be able to find out!

I would love to be published one day too! I hope one day both our dreams come true!!!

OLD follower! (Sorry, I accidentally said "new" follower in my previous post)

I hope you'll check out my post (even though it's a bit late)! :)
