Review--The Savage Grace by Bree Despain

A troubled soul. An impossible choice. A final battle.

Wrestling with the werewolf curse pulsing deep inside of her, Grace Divine was finally able to find her brother, but it nearly cost her everything.

With her boyfriend, Daniel, stuck in wolf form and Sirhan's death approaching, time is running out for Grace to stop Caleb Kalbi and his gang of demons. If she fails, her family and hometown will perish. Everything rests on Grace's shoulders.

The final installment in The Dark Divine trilogy brings Daniel and Grace's love story to a breathtaking conclusion.

Bree Despain's The Savage Grace concludes the trilogy of Grace and Daniel's story. It's been a loooong time since I last ventured into this world, but I was able to follow along nicely at least!

The beginning to this novel was a little slow, partly because my memory was bad and partly because it was just slow. Not much was going on. Jude is locked in the parish basement. Grace is left to lead the lost boys in Daniel's absence. Grace's mother is still in the hospital, having lost her mind a bit after Grace's father told her everything--including werewolves.

For the most part in the beginning, Grace is trying to find a way to bring Daniel back to her. He is currently stuck in his wolf form and has been howling in the woods at night, causing some upset with the town. It's quite awhile until Grace is able to bring Daniel back, I tell you this not because it's a spoiler, but because the rest of my review has to include Daniel.

Talbot is still around as well. He is trying to do everything he can to win Grace back. Her trust and possibly her love since he's admitted his feelings to her. But Grace's heart belongs to Daniel, no matter his form.

The last big chunk of the story is where the main action is! Sirhan comes to Grace because he wants her to heal him before he dies. So he can die as a man and still have his soul. After his death, a battle is set to occur. When an alpha dies, other werewolves are allowed to challenge the Beta of that pack so that the challenger can gain new werewolves for their pack. But, Gabriel has elected Daniel to take his place since Daniel is a true alpha.

The battle was intense and there were soooo many shocking surprises that followed it! I was astounded! And little bit upset too! Then the ending even leaves you feeling like more could happen down the line, but I do believe that Grace's story is finished here.

I liked the ending. I had a slew of emotions that I went through with it, but I think the way Bree ended it was nice. You're left knowing that the characters are going to be all right, for the most part, even though their story is over.

There was some romantic moments here and there in the story, but not a lot. There was too much action, about midway, for there to be any more time for romance. The action, as I said, was awesome! It does take about midway through the story for the action to be good. There's lots of tension in this book too!

Overall it was a great read and a fabulous end to the trilogy!
