This week's question is: What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

MY ANSWER: Oohhh. Craziest thing? Well, there were times I would hunt down a book without using the "check store inventory" thingy. I would go to like EVERY single Borders that was in my area hunting down the book! And most times it was because I was looking for the book a little earlier than the release date. Hence why I didn't use the "check store inventory" thingy. Other people would say their stores in whereverville put them out early, so I would go to every bookstore imaginable in my area trying to track the book down a week early or so. And I wasn't always successful, but there were a few times I was!

TGIF is a weekly feature created and hosted by GReads! that re-caps the week’s posts and has different question each week.

This week's question is: Recommend It: Which book from the last 10 you've read would you recommend to a friend?

MY ANSWER: Ohhhh, tough one! Well since my mind kind of boggles with books I had to look at my review list and see which from the last 10, which, wow--I'm not reading as much as I used to since I got a job. Anyways I would say Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder! Of course I am a total fan girl of Maria, and know that everyone may not like fantasy and magic books. There isn't any supernatural creatures running about, but it's still a totally awesome story!

So as for a paranormal book--since that's all I read with the exception of Maria's books--I would recommend Drink Deep! Sure, it's in the middle of the Chicagoland Vampire series, but it was EPIC! I loved it! If you've read it, you pretty much know why!

  1. The great thing about Touch of Power is how accessible it is to fans of any speculative genre. I agree. :)

  3. There were times I would get a book, get to the register, and they would not sell it to me because it was not supposed to be out yet!!! It would make me so mad:( I love that it worked better for you sometimes:)

  6. Haha, wow Jess you're seriously determined! I just order stuff online, but then again what I like to read, like the original English version most of the time, isn't available in stores here, and I really don't like reading the translated version if I can get the original, right?

Thank for stopping by this #FF as well, it's great to have my week-to-week friends with me on this hopping galore occasion :D

  8. We recommended the same book - Touch of Power. It's actually the first book from her I've read, but it made me immediately want to get all of her other books!

  10. I get so mad when the book comes out in the store like a week before they say, but the library won't get it for three more weeks. It sits in the store taunting me! haha, but I get what you mean! Thanks for stopping by my FF :)

  11. That's awesome. I went to the book store a week early once thinking If I Die by Rachel Vincent was already out. I wanted it so bad. Then when I went back the day it was out and they still didn't have it so I just got it on my kindle. My kindle saves me a lot of trouble of running out the day the book is out trying to find it. Thanks for visiting! Old Follower.

  12. Nothing wrong with a little over-eager book search! I have definitely a time or two gone to the bookstore looking for a book I could not wait for only to discover it had not been released yet! Almost as though shear will power could place it on the shelf! New follower!

  14. Drink Deep was a pretty good book, though I liked the previous books better. But you're right, it was epic. Haven't read the other book yet. Thanks for sharing and stopping by my blog. Old follower.

  16. I look for books early, too! But that's because my Books-A-Million has been known to shelve books fully one week before their known release date. Believe me, a week in advance feels like pure joy when it's a fav series. ;-)

  17. That's pure dedication! I don't know if I have that kind of patience anymore - I'm turning in to a very lazy online shopper.

Thanks for stopping by, old follower!
