This week's question is: Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate — ? Did
you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do
that?
MY ANSWER: Well I guess the closest I came was Rachel Vincent's Stray. I remember being nervous thinking that it was going to be a total romance, since it was stocked in the romance section. But when I saw so many authors I already loved on the cover quoting its awesomeness, I decided to give it a try. And naturally I ended up loving it!
I have to admit, I've never actually heard of this book before. I'm going to go and check it out.

I was a little nervous reading Stray too. I was on the search for a new werewolf series to start and found Rachel Vincent instead. Am I ever glad I did! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI've never read Stray and actually haven't heard much about it. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to check out some reviews on this one :)

I totally ended up loving this series too! I was hesitant to try ti out since soo many people were raving about it, i was worried that my expectations would be too high.
ReplyDeleteOoh, that's good to hear Jessica! I was wondering if I should pick up that series and if it would be good. It seems we like similar paranormal books, so I'm going to give them a shot!

It's awesome when you're a little iffy about a book before you start it, then get blown away because it's amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF post earlier. Have a wonderful weekend!
Oooh, when I read it, I was in one of my reading-manias, (I think it was April 2011 and I read 40 books that month D:.) and I reaally enjoyed it. :D

I'm not into books that are full on romance either. There has to be some sort of kick butt action to keep me interested. xD

I haven't read this book, but I'd be the same way. Usually I stay away from romance just with the thought that I won't like it, so if I were to pick up something like this in that section I would be expecting the worst. At least you still gave it a shot and it worked out for the best! Me, I just don't even try so I never know. Maybe I should, it's good to try new things every once in a while. (But so many books, and so little time!)

I haven't read this book yet but I'm interested in it. Rachel Vincent is a super star after all. I'll have to finish the Soul Screamer series before this one though.

I haven't read Rachel's adult series, but since I was disappointed with her YA series.. I have been hesitant to read anything else by her, plus I am not big on shifters.

For me, covers are a big part of my decision to read a book, not it's genre, but I like your post.
