This week's question is: How did you come up with your blog title and address? Does it have a special meaning for you? - Suggested by The Paperback Princess

MY ANSWER: I've told this story before but I still enjoy telling it! My blog came into fruition one day back in 2009. I was reading one of my favorite series, Shifters, by Rachel Vincent.

She had this contest where if you review her latest book, Pride, in multiple places you had the chance to win fabulous prizes!! The more places you reviewed, the better your chances.

This was before I joined Goodreads or knew of it, so I posted to Amazon, Borders, and then I thought where else can I post??? Rachel suggested in her contest post, on your blog. And I thought, I can do that!

So I went over to Blogger and created a free blog and when it came to naming my blog, I had to stop and think. What to call it? I was mainly creating it so that I could have an extra entry in this contest. So I started thinking...and well, since Pride was such a GREAT read...I thought why not call my blog that! Because the books I read are such GREAT reads!

I even broke my little nitpicking ways and called it: a GREAT read...instead of A Great Read. I liked seeing those lowercase letters and then the all caps of GREAT! Because the books I read, are nearly always GREAT!

And thus my blog was born!!!

  1. I haven't posted a Feature Follow Friday in a long while. That is an awesome story. I like the way you came up with the name of your blog and I totally agree with lowercase and uppercase scenario you went for.

  6. That's a great story! It's always interesting to hear how different people came up with their titles. And I think your capitalization adds a bit of spice to a pretty straight forward name. Nice!
