Review--The Curse of the Tenth Grave by Darynda Jones

As a part-time PI and full-time grim reaper, Charley Davidson has asked a lot of questions throughout her life:
* Why can I see dead people?
* Who is the hot supernatural entity following me?
* How do I get gum out of my sister’s hair before she wakes up?
* But, “How do I trap not one malevolent god, but three?” was never among them. Until now. And since those gods are on earth to kill her daughter, she has little choice but to track them down, trap them, and cast them from this dimension.

There’s just one problem. One of the three stole her heart a very long time ago. Can the Razer, a god of absolute death and destruction, change his omniscient spots, or will his allegiances lie with his brothers?

Those are just a few of the questions Charley must answer, and quick. Add to that a homeless girl running for her life, an innocent man who’s been charged with murder, and a pendant made from god glass that has the entire supernatural world in an uproar, and Charley has her hands full. If she can manage to take care of the whole world-destroying-gods thing, we’re saved. If not, well…

The readathon is still going strong with Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series! I hope to be fully caught up by the end of the year! And then I will be screaming in agony over what I'm guessing will be a huge cliffhanger with book 12. If I recall book 13 might be the last. But I could be wrong! I don't even remember where/when I heard this information! The Curse of the Tenth Grave is the 10th installment in the series and it was quite the adventure!

So Charley and Reyes are back in New Mexico trying to get back to life without their darling little Beep. Charley feels like Reyes has been pulling back from her lately and can't help but wonder why; if it has anything to do with her memory loss and her forgetting him. Things start off with a bang when Amber discovers a video that was posted showing Charley perform an exorcism of sorts from her younger days in the Peace Corp! Now she's discovering she has not one, but two groups of stalkers following her around!

The main case at hand in this one comes from Nick the...well you know, or can take a pretty good guess, who wants Charley to prove his old college buddy innocent of killing his girlfriend. The evidence is damning, but after reviewing the facts and talking with Lyle, the accused, she's positive he's innocent too.

A side case that pops up involves an orphanage house of sorts when she sees a young teen on the streets. She claims there's a curse on the house for over the past seven years, nine children have died mysteriously.

Needless to say, Charley has her hands full. Add in the fact that it seems Reyes is keeping his own set of secrets and things are monumentally intense! Charley is keeping her own secrets too involving the pendant she has that can trap any demon/entity in another world until the banisher chooses to release them. She's not entirely positive she won't have to use it on Reyes, who's also a god as she learned. So many secrets, so many mysteries what ever will Charley do? Why, what she does best of course!

Darynda Jones bring us yet another delightful and entertaining read filled with laughs, a twisty good mystery, and of course more spine tingling romance! I mean seriously...my toes curl soooo much every time Charley and Reyes get together!! Lol! Seriously, my standards for future boyfriends continue to rise with guys like Reyes!

I am happy to be in a binging marathon with Charley! Binging books is always great, but binging with Charley is pure delightful! Her sense of humor totally lifts my spirits and I cannot wait to see how she will tackle the next speed bump that was just thrown at her at the end of this one! This is a series I seriously cannot get enough of! This is definitely one you must read if you haven't yet!

Overall Rating 5/5 stars
