This week's question is: Bookselling Time: Go to your biggest bookcases. Go to the second shelf from the top and pick out the sixth book from the left. Hardsell that book to us – even if you haven’t read it or if you hated it. (if you don’t have bookcases, don’t have six books on one shelf, etc, pick a book at random)
MY ANSWER:
Of course it would be one I haven't read in YEARS! Let alone one that's in the middle of the series itself! My book was The Touch of Twilight by Vicki Pettersson.
Okay, let me tell you a little about the series in general to start...the Signs of the Zodiac series is an incredible 6 book read by Vicki Pettersson that delves into the not so seen SUPER HEROES!! That's right! No vampires or werewolves or shifter variety, but super heroes!! There's still demons in a way, the Shadows--the bad guys are an evil bunch and some of them can get pretty sinister!
Joanna is a young woman who watched her sister die and was forced, in a way, to take over her life and her identity in order to protect her own. Joanna Archer in fact died and not Olivia--Joanna's sister. It sounds more complicated than it really is.
But to make matters more interesting, Joanna was recruited to be an Agent of Light fighting for the good guys against the agents of Shadow. And the Leader of the Shadow agents just happens to be her father. An uber scary dude known as the Tulpa!
So while we don't see the standard paranormal beings in this one, there is still a hefty dose of supernatural going on! It was quite the exciting series too in fact! Lots of twists and turns that I never saw coming and the ending, from what I can remember, was freaking incredible!
To start this incredible series, begin with The Scent of Shadows!
