This week's question is: Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you’ve read and loved?
MY ANSWER: I was never really thrilled with the first few covers in the H&W Investigations series. The latest cover is actually pretty good since they've been revamped. But the first 3 are just kind of blah! But the storyline was oh so good!
This week's question is: Back to School Reading: Which books would you like to see in today's high school Literature classrooms?
MY ANSWER: Uh, I don't know. What are high school kids reading today? I know some books people said they read in high school, I didn't. I either never read them or read them at different times.
And of course I loathed all but one book I had to read in high school and that was The Count of Monte Cristo! So keep that in the system! :)
The Princess Bride would be another! I can't remember if I had to read that in high school. I know I watched the movie a few times and read the book in a college course. But it is a really good novel and it has lots of archetypes. I remember that being pointed out in one of the classes.
So I guess, I don't really know. I know books that I adore reading are not Lit class appropriate.
huh, the cover kind of reminds me of Priest, the movie. Thanks for stopping by, old follower as well ^_^

Lame cover! The movie cover is better lol. Such a great movie, I never read the book tho.

Yeah! That's pretty terrible, Jessica!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, my lovely!
Happy Friday!
That cover would NOT appeal to me when book buying! It just doesn't stand out, the colours are too dark and samey.
ReplyDeleteI'm an old follower. (:
That's a pretty bad cover. Thanks for sharing and stopping by!

Hmm I'm OK with that cover! But I feel like it looks like a lot of the urban fantasy covers. Thanks for stopping by!

I can't even count the number of times I watched "The Princess Bride" as a teenager. However, I'm one of those people that didn't care for the book. I thought the movie was much better. As far as the book cover, is she supposed to be floating in the air?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF. Old Follower.
I've never heard of this series, but judging the cover is maybe a bad way to go ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
That cover does look bad. Really no premise to it. Old Follower =] Thanks for sharing and visiting My FF

I am dying to read the Princess Bride - it's been on my TBR for ages. I'm a new follower. You can find me at: http://todayinshenaya.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteHaha, that cover looks like the poster for a 90s movie :)But if the story was good...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE The Princess Bride movie, and am ashamed to say I have yet to read the book :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, I agree that this is not a great cover for the Hunted by Others novel.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Friday Blog Hop! I've seen the Princess Bride a million times, but never read the novel. I have to put it in my TBR pile now. Old follower =)

oh, that's an interesting enough cover... not sure I's pick it up, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the colors of the cover but the girl's face is pretty darn intimidating.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend! :)
Yeah, good call. That cover is pretty uninspiring. The title is interesting though, so at least it has that going for it.
ReplyDeleteOld follower. :-)
That cover that you posted looks fierce. :
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

Why don't you like the Jess Haines book cover? I think it's pretty cool :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
I agree, something about the cover is just...weird. Thanks for stopping by, old follower :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think I'd still pick that up if I read the blurb and it appealed to me. For some reason, there's almost an expectation that a good book cover these days is going to have a pretty girl in a long flowing dress on it. I say Blah!
ReplyDeleteHehe, have a great weekend! As Always, thanks for stopping by my blog. Old Follower:D
ooh. eeek. I'm not diggin' that cover at all >.< *sigh* At least the story was really good :) Thanks for stopping by my FF <3
