Random Thursday

Time to, once again, return to That's a Fact Jack: A Collection of Utterly Useless Information [Updated] by Harry Bright and Jakob Anser! This book is a lot of fun because this is the epitome of randomness!

"Of the four fundamental forces--gravity, electromagnetism, weak nuclear force, and strong nuclear force--gravity it by far the weakest."

Wouldn't have guessed that with "weak nuclear force"!

"The surface of the light side of the Moon is covered in tiny concave chips. Light hitting these chips from any direction is fully reflected outward. The same principle has been applied to the reflective paint used on road signs: the paint itself contains concave chips reminiscent of moondust."

For some reason, I never gave much thought to the "light side of the moon"!

"The orbiting Cassini probe has discovered liquid water on Saturn's moon Enceladus, suggesting that conditions amenable to life may exist beyond Earth but still within its solar system."

Possibility of life on Saturn? Awesome!

"Saturn has such a low density that, if placed in water, it would float."

Cool! I always liked Saturn when it came to the planets. Guessing it was its rings! Lol!
