"Propping my hands on my hips, I gave Luna an eyeful, waiting for her shock, her embarrassment, but it didn't come. She stared straight at me, still that oddly composed girl from the forest unaffected by arrows flying at her head or approaching monsters.

Or by me standing naked in front of her." p 38

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week's topic is: Characters I Started Out Hating but Ended Up Liking/Loving in the End!**

**as you might notice this isn't the posted topic. I had to twist it a bit because honestly if I am not liking a book, it's usually due to the pacing, plot, or characters. Basically, if I didn't like the book overall, I don't really like the characters as much either. Hence my twisting this topic to talk about characters I started out disliking but ended up liking in the end!
*in no particular order

10. THE DARKLING--yeah, I didn't want to like this guy. I mean, he's the villain! A very complicated villain and yeah, in the end I really liked him and felt for the guy!
9. WARNER--another guy I didn't want to like. He still kept Juliette a prisoner of sorts after she was let out of prison. But then I read his novella and I started to understand him a bit, maybe even sympathize for him. But he had a lot of work to do before I would like him...but yeah, I was liking him before the end of book 2!
8. THE COMMANDER--another character I didn't want to like. He was against all things magical, and I can understand that. But he just had that air to him that made you want to hate him...but then yeah, as the series rolled along, I started to like him in a friendly sort of way!

7. FABIAN--he wasn't necessarily villainous but I found him rude and arrogant. Though as the story moved along, he started to grow on me! Lol!
6. SETH--I'm only acknowledging Seth's character as it was in the Covenant series as I still need to read the new one (planning to soon!)! But yeah, I didn't really like him too much. I might have gone back and forth with my hating and liking and yeah, by the end, I was back to sorta liking him. I just didn't like the decisions and choices he made over the course of the series. Plus I was pretty much Team Aiden from the getgo and he was standing in the way of that! Lol!
5. DAEMON--yeah, Daemon wasn't a favorite in the beginning. Let's face it, he was an ass. Granted I was in love with him before the end of book 1, but it definitely wasn't love at first sight!

4. JARED--Jared was another character I didn't care for right away. In the beginning, he was a bit of an ass as well! He was somewhat of a player and that just didn't bode well with me. He wasn't very nice to Allie in the beginning either. But again, as this world series moved along, he grew on me and naturally when his trilogy came up I loved the guy!
3. GARRETT--here's the thing, I love bad guys turned good guys, but I usually don't like them when they are the bad guy. Garrett, let's face it, was a "bad guy" in the start of Talon. But then as he got to know Ember, he started changing his views and sure enough he turns good guy and wins my heart! Lol!
2. MALFOY--let's ignore the movies for a moment here. I didn't want to like Malfoy. He was pretentious, selfish, ignorant...the list goes on! And it probably really wasn't until the last book or two of the series that my dislike of him began to fade and by the series finale I really liked the guy!

1. AIDAN--though technically he was an AI and not a real person character, AIDAN wasn't that great of a "guy". He easily kills people for the "greater good". What's to like about that? But then once again, as the series moved along it starts to change. AIDAN begins to understand human tendencies a little better and let's face it, I pretty much liked the guy? thing? by the end of Illuminae!
