Random Thursday

There's only three more week's worth of bizarre facts from That's a Fact Jack: A Collection of Utterly Useless Information [Updated] by Harry Bright and Jakob Anser! Let's see what we learn today!

Christopher Columbus believed until he died that he'd landed in Asia instead of of the "new world."

Somehow did not know that.

The Sargasso Sea in the North Atlantic--named after the seaweed sargassum, which floats over its expanse--is the saltiest part of all the world's oceans. The legend of the Sargasso Sea as the "sea of lost ships" predates the Bermuda Triangle's reputation by centuries.

Another thing I did not know!

Paleontologists have discovered a new species of meat-eating dinosaur larger than the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Roaming in packs, the Mapusaurus roseae hunted even the largest known dinosaur, Argentinosaurus, which was 25 percent longer than the blue whale.

Dang that's big! I don't they had these in Jurassic Park!

The tongue of a blue whale weighs about as much as a full-grown elephant or a sport utility vehicle.

Daaanng!! That's heavy!

  1. I had no idea that Columbus thought that until he died. Like I genuinely thought that he arrived there, signed the paperwork to say yep, this is Asia and then IDK met some people native to the country and worked it out?

Comments are an award all on their own! So my blog is an award free one! Thanks for any consideration though!
